The Iraqi-American Endowment Center (IAEC)
and the American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) condemns the
terrorist acts on Iraqi churches and the Christian communities while they
were attending their Masses. For the first time, they have been subjected
to this kind of crime.
These heinous crimes, even though, have an
immediate psychological impact on the Christian communities, but it will
not deter them to stand fast with the rest of the Iraqi people,
irrespective of their religion or ethnicity to overcome this calamity.
The Iraqi-American community has watched
these terrorist events on the Iraqi people at large with apprehension, and
we hope that the Iraqi interim government will succeed in curbing these
terrorist activities, including kidnapping, beheading, and killing of
innocent people.
The Iraqi-American community has brought
these matters to the attention of the American government in the past,
fearing that such acts might happen.
We hope that the American administration will
re-address these issues (security and army deployment) and work very
closely with the other peace-loving nations to support Iraq and the Iraqi
people and to stop this genocide by putting the neighboring countries that
support terrorism on notice.
