05-03-2004 at 6:00 PM: Meeting Hosted by the Honorable Representative Lisa Wojno Members of the American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) attended a function hosted by the Honorable Representative Lisa Wojno in Warren. Members had a discussion with various guests at that function, including the Honorable Governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm. The delegation included Dr. Ramsay F. Dass, president; Mr. David Enwiya; Ms. Asoma Karna; Ms. Nadia Sukkar; Mr. Hany Choulagh; Rev. Fr. Benjamin; and Mr. Clarence Dass.
05-03-2004 at 8:00 PM: President George W. Bush Rally at Freedom Hill Amphitheater A delegation from American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) attended President George W. Bush’s rally at Freedom Hill Amphitheater, including Dr. Ramsay F. Dass, president; Mr. David Enwiya; Ms. Asoma Karna; Ms. Nadia Sukkar; Rev. Fr. Benjamin; and Mr. Clarence Dass.
06-30-04: Meeting with Honorable Congressman Mike Rogers A delegation from the American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) chaired by Dr. Ramsay Dass, president, met with the Honorable Congressman Mike Rogers to discuss areas of interest to the American Middle East Christians Congress and Iraq. The delegation included Mr. Hany Choulagh, Mr. David Enwiya, Mr. Steve Aziza, and Mr. Mohsin Al-Jebory. There was a frank discussion regarding political and heritage issues between the United States of America and the Middle East countries and people.
07-01-04: Meeting with the Honorable Congressman Joe Knollenberg A delegation of the American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) chaired by Dr. Ramsay Dass, president, met with the Honorable Congressman Joe Knollenberg to discuss areas of interest to the American Middle East Christians Congress and Iraq. The delegation included Mr. Hany Choulagh, Mr. David Enwiya, and Mr. Mohsin Al-Jebory. There was a frank discussion regarding political and heritage issues between the United States of America and the Middle East countries and people.
07-28-04: Meeting with Mr. Daniel D. Roberts, Special Agent in Charge, FBI On July 28, a delegation of American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) chaired by Dr. Ramsay Dass, president, met with Mr. Daniel D. Roberts, special agent in charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Michigan to congratulate him on his new appointment. There was a presentation regarding the American Middle East communities in Michigan and their vision and mission. There was a candid and frank discussion regarding issues related to the FBI and the community. We wished him well and the best of luck in his new appointment. The delegation included Mr. Hany Choulagh, Mr. David Enwiya, Ms. Asoma Karna, and Mr. Basim Daoud.
08-09-04: Townhall Meeting with First Lady Laura Bush Members of the American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) were invited to attend a townhall meeting with First Lady Laura Bush that was hosted by the Michigan Republican party. The members included Dr. Ramsay Dass, president; Mr. David Enwiya; Ms. Asoma Karna; Mr. Nazar Boghossian; and Mr. Clarence Dass. AMECC was visible with its activities discussing issues related to the Middle East communities and Iraq. There were many interviews with our members with the media including TV, radio, and newspapers.
08-22-04: Health-O-Rama The American Middle East Christians Congress (AMECC) hosted a unique and special Health-O-Rama to the American Middle East communities at Mother of God’s Chaldean Cultural Center on August 22, 2004. Various community organizations including medical organizations, heritage organizations, cultural organization, the Interfaith organization, members in the medical field, and auxiliaries with a large group of volunteers. These groups included the Iraqi American Endowment Center, Chaldean Federation of America, ACCESS, Transcultural Home Health Care Program, MedShare, Greak Lakes Health Plan, the American Red Cross, the American Diabetic Association, Allegiance Home Health Care, Quest Diagnostics Lab, and Oak Park Medical Clinic. Over 826 people from various ethnicities and faith-based people utilized this program, where blood sugar, cholesterol, bone densomitry studies, blood pressure, and general physical exams. Various brochures and consultations where made with the group of physicians who volunteered to assist in this program, including Dr. Malik George, dermatology; Dr. Samira Zebari, pediatrician, Dr. Haifa Kashat Monsour, dentist; Dr. Fatin Asmar, dentist; Dr. Basima Daman, dentist; Dr. Louie Haddad, psychiatrist; Dr. Mazin Mukhtar, cancer specialist; Dr. Imad Nakash, opthamologist; and Ms. Ghaida Kashat, pharmacist. There was also a group of youth volunteers, which included Dr. Chris Gappy, Tanelle Pattah, Vera Pattah, Pierre Konja, Bridget Yaldou, Christina Kassab, Christina Orou, Noor Attisha, James Yousif, Armadian Boghossian, Arman Boghossian, Nadia Bazzy, Kathleen Dass, Clarence Dass, and Clarissa Dass. The Health-O-Rama was also assisted with a group of volunteers from AMECC, including Mr. David Enwiya, Mr. Nazar Boghossian, Ms. Asoma Karna, Ms. Jalila Karana, Mr. Namir Isso, Mr. Basim Daoud, Mr. Nadhir Zoma, Ms. Ban Mukhtar, Ms. Natalie Dass, Mr. Steve Aziza; members of the Iraqi American Endowment Center including Mr. Mohsin Al-Jebory, Mr. Umid Ali, Mr. Shaker Al-Farajalla, and Mr. Raad Abbo.
AMECC appreciates Rev. Fr. Manuel Boji, Pastor of Mother of God Church, for his kind consideration, assistance, and visitation to this Health-O-Rama; Mr. Steve Spreitz from the Interfaith organization; Dr. Wael Sakr, president of the National Association of Arab Americans; Brenda Rosenberg from the American Jewish Federation; Dr. Sharifa Boumedian from ACCESS and her team; Mr. Sam Zeer, Chaldean Federation of America; Ms. Najah Bazzy, RN, Director of Human Diversity and Transcultural Services; Mr. Eide Alawan; and the Bayer company for distributing over a thousand blood sugar machines.

08-25-04: Meeting with Sister Rose Marie, president of Madonna University Dr. Ramsay Dass visited Sister Rose Marie, president of Madonna University, with Dr. Jonathon Swift to discuss various issues of interest between the American Middle East Christians Congress and Madonna University in the fields of education and humanity. |
