INTRODUCTION
The
American Middle East Christians’ Congress (AMECC) is an extension of
the Arab American and Chaldean Forum that was established in 1991.
Subsequently
after the September 11th tragedy, other Middle East Christian
communities have joined this forum, and so this was renamed the American
Middle East Christian Communities Congress to accommodate various other
Middle East Christian communities’ vision and mission.
The
American Middle East Christians’ Congress (AMECC) is
an
umbrella organization for the American Middle East Christian community
organizations across the United States of America.
AMECC
is a community organization that revolves around our heritage
organizations and centers with a vision and mission to bring
together the diverse and unique Middle East Christian communities in the
United States in the fields of heritage, education, culture and humanity.
Advance
civic and public affairs and protect civil liberties, condemn all kinds of
terrorism, bigotry, and religious intolerance.
There
are well over five hundred thousand American Middle Eastern Christians in
Michigan and over six million in the United States including Arabs,
Armenians, Antiochians, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Coptics, Maronites,
Melkites, Syriacs, and others.
The
Middle East Christians communities in the USA were left behind and ignored
by the American political/media systems either due to the lack of
information or inappropriate representation of the American Middle East
Christians by any local or national
organizations.
The
American Middle East Christians share the American’s dream and values in
democracy, liberty, freedom and justices.
